Over the years, I have had to write and speak quite a lot around the world on the basic issues that increasingly confront humankind today. Some of these issues, such as Climate Change and Species Extinction threaten life itself and the ability of our fragile planet to support it. Others, including the issues of technology, governance or economics may not be as sudden or dramatic in their impact but nevertheless are the day-to-day concerns of millions of people around the world.
Various readers have clipped the snippets below in an attempt to capture the essence of longer narratives and to make them more accessible to a wider audience. Many of them come from the Editorials I used to write every month for a dozen years in the Development Alternatives Newsletter (DANL), until my colleagues decided that they have more important things to say and took over the responsibility of writing these little sermons.
